STEP 2 – Part 1
Unit Information
This guide follows an example network configuration and numbering plan.
Please request correct information for your deployment from your network administrator.
1.
This guide will refer to the above IP information.

2.
Connect the BV1270SIP-OD and PC with an RJ45 Ethernet straight cable via a hub. Alternatively you can connect a
BV1270SIP-OD and PC directly by an RJ45 Cross Connect (rollover) cable.
3.
Connect the PC to BV1270SIP-OD using the Serial RS232C cable.
Set the COM port settings to: 9600bps, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity & Hardware control

Please note:
•
By default the Maintenance Console Software attempts to use the COM1 port of the PC.
To change the default com port goto the menu bar item “Tools” select “Options” set the com port for your system.

Assign an IP address to the PC, which falls within the same subnet to enable LAN communication
