3. CHECKING FOR POSSIBLE GAS LOSSES
Do not use free flames to control possi-
ble gas losses. Make sure that, during the
checking procedures for possible losses,
there are no sparks or naked flames in
the area. The presence of sparks or naked
flames could cause flames or explosions,
resulting in serious or fatal personal inju-
ries and/or damages to things.
Each time you disconnect and reconnect a
gas collection it’s necessary to check that
there are no gas losses.
Note:
All the connections performed by the
manufacturer have been subject to precise
checks to verify their resistance. The correct
flame emission from the burners has been
checked. However, as safety precautions, before
using the barbecue, it is advisable to check all
the connections again to verify that there are
no losses. During transport and movement,
gas connections could be damaged or loosen.
•
Turn all the knobs to “OFF” (•).
INSTRUCTIONS FOR LPG USE
•
Open the bottle valve letting the handwheel turn anti-
clockwise.
Do not turn on the burners during while
you’re checking for possible losses.
•
Use a solution of water and soap and a cloth or a brush
to apply it.
•
Check that there are no losses by wetting the connec-
tion with the water and soap solution and checking
that no bobbles form.
•
If some bubbles form, or if a bubble increasing in size
forms, it means that there is a loss. In this case, close
the gas and tighten the connection.
•
Reopen gas and check again with the water and soap
solution. If the loss doesn’t stop, please contact the lo-
cal representative of the Customer Assistance Service
(or Ohmex).
•
Once you’ve completed the losses verification test,
close the gas at the source and rinse the couplings
with water.
Note:
Since some solutions used for the checking,
including the water and soap one, can be
slightly corrosive, all the connections must be
rinsed with water after the test.
