When the Security Switch is in locked position, see figure below, the menu settings are affected
as follows:
External calibration function is hidden
The readability will be reduced by a factor of 10 or brackets will be displayed around the
last digit, depending on the model
Units are locked to the current setting
Stable range locked to 1d
AZT locked to 0.5d
Zero range forced to 2%
Filter Level is locked to current setting.
Stable only in Print menu locked to ON
Continuous/Interval print cannot be selected (SJX…N/E models only)

4.2 Calibration Menu
Enter this menu to perform calibrations.
Notes:
* These sub menus are not available in SJX/E models. The settings vary with model.
Internal Calibration
[ In.CAL ]
Initiates an internal calibration procedure.
Automatic Calibration
[ A.CAL ]
Initiates an automatic calibration procedure.
OFF = disabled
ON = enabled
Calibration Adjustment
[ CAL.ADJ ]
Set the calibration adjustment factor for the internal calibration mass.

Note:
Before making a calibration adjustment, perform an Internal Calibration. To verify whether
an adjustment is needed, place a test mass equal to the span calibration value on the pan and
note the difference (in divisions) between the nominal mass value and the actual balance
reading. If the difference is within ± 1 division, calibration adjustment is not required. If the
difference exceeds ± 1 division, calibration adjustment is recommended.
Example:
Actual weight reading: 1500.14
Expected weight reading: 1500.00 (Test mass value)
Difference Weight (d): 0.14
Difference weight in digits: -14 (Adjust value)
