This screen indicates the unit's internal GPS receiver is operating in the Warm Start
mode (as indicated by the correct date and approximate time), the number of the
satellite(s) being searched, and the Time Figure Of Merit (
TFOM
) of the unit's timing
output.
After a short period the screen starts to indicate the exact time, the number of the
satellites that are being acquired (a), searched (s), and tracked (
≡
). The track (
≡
)
symbol also functions as signal strength indicator.
This screen indicates that the unit is acquiring satellites 26 and 15, tracking satellites
12 and 28, and searching for satellite 22.
Further operation is completely automatic. After approximately fifteen minutes, the
unit's operating mode will change from
Warm-Up
to
Time Locked
. During the warm up
period, the user can select the operating conditions of the unit such as: time code
output format, pulse rate output, etc.

ANTENNA POSITION/MODE SELECTION
At initial power-up, the unit normally defaults to
Cold Start
and
Position Averaging
position mode. At subsequent application of power the unit defaults to
Warm Start
and
the position mode selected during the prior operation. To view the active position
solution mode:

Press key 2 until Position Menu 1 of 2 is selected (

).

This screen indicates the antenna position, and that the active position solution mode

. To change the position solution mode:

if the antenna location is not
accurately known. Select
Known
if the antenna position is accurately known.
