7.5.2.6 Indices (optional)
This menu uses the measured surface data to
calculate various indices. Corneal indices permit the
large number of measurement data generated by the
Easygraph to be reduced to a small number of
characteristic values which permit statements
regarding the shape of the corneal surface to be
made.
Furthermore, a classification of the cornea is made
(e.g. stage 2 keratokonus).
The Easygraph uses the following data for index
calculation: curvature data, height data and Fourier
analysis as well as Zernike analysis output. This
comprehensive use of all relevant corneal data
permits early identification of a wide variety of
abnormalities.
The index menu is titled with the usual patient
information bar, supplemented in this case by the
fields “Pat-ID” and “Infotext”:
Pat-ID
: gives the patient’s ID-number that has
been entered into the patient data
administration software.
Infotext
:
shows any information that has been
entered into the field for comments in the
overview display. (for “field for comments”
see 7.5.2.1 page 23)
The individual indices are shown in the middle top
left of the display. They are designated as follows:
