49 Pick-up failure: specialities
50 The registration roller fails to rotate.
Lifter drive 3 Is the lifter drive assembly
normal? No Correct it.
Pick-up
assembly Yes Replace the pick-up
unit.

Pick-up
clutch CL2
for the speci-
ality tray 1 Select speciality pick-up, and
press the copy button. Does
the pick-up roller rotate? No Check the wiring. If it is
normal, replace the
clutch CL2.
Cam for the
paper guide 2 Select speciality pick-up, and
press the copy button. Does
the guide plate jump up? Yes Check the position of
the cam and the separa-
tion pad. Adjust as nec-
essary, or replace it.

solenoid
(SL3) 3 Connect the + to J14-B12 and
the – to J14-B13 on the DC
control PBA. Does the meter
reading change from 0V to
approximately 24 V when the
copy button is pressed? Yes Check the wiring. If it is
normal, replace the
solenoid SL3.

when the scanner starts to
move?
No
Replace the DC control
PBA
Clutch CL1
for the regis-
tration roller Yes Check the wiring from
the DC control PBA. If
undamaged, replace the
clutch CL1.
