PHOTO 109: Cut to size and glue the window frames (107) to the skylight panels (106). Use fast-drying glue or transparent
contact adhesive.
PHOTOS 110 & 111. Glue the skylight panels (106) onto the cabin skylight. Make up and glue the sills (108 & 109) into place.
PHOTOS 112 – 115: Glue the parts (98, 99, 100 & 101) onto the gallant rails as shown in the photos.
PHOTOS 116 & 117: Make up the fairleads (110 & 111) and attach them to the gallant rails as shown, using the pins (A).
PHOTOS 118 & 119: Cut to size the handrails (112, 113 & 114), stain them and then glue them into place as shown in the
photos.
PHOTOS 120 & 121: Stain the parts (115, 116, 117 & 118) and glue them into place to make up the two companion hatches.
PHOTOS 122 & 123: Make up the finishes (119, 120 & 121) and stain them the colour of sapelli wood. Glue them to the
companion hatches.
PHOTO 124: Make up the parts (122 & 123) and stain them the colour of sapelli wood. Now glue them to the doors (122). Make
a hole in each door.
PHOTO 125: Bend two eyebolts (B). Glue the doors into the companion hatch and insert and attach the eyebolts. Cut off the
excess on the inside of the companion hatch.
PHOTOS 126 & 127: Bend and fix the hinges (125) onto the lids (124). Cut to size the hinge pins (126) and glue them onto the
companion hatches.
PHOTO 128: Apply colourless, pore-filling lacquer to the two companion hatches and then glue them over the holes left in the
deck.
PHOTOS 129 & 130: Make up the two stairs, in the dimensions indicated in the photo, using the parts (127 & 128). Now glue
them to the waist deck.
PHOTOS 131 & 132: Make up the capstan whelps (130) and glue them to the capstan (129). Stain them using water-based
walnut wood coloured stain.
PHOTO 133: Apply colourless, pore-filling lacquer to the capstan and the cabin skylight. Now glue the two parts onto the deck.
PHOTOS 134 - 135: Glue together the parts (131 & 132) to make up the bitts and stain them the colour of sapelli wood. Now
glue parts (133, 134 & 135) over the holes in the deck. Also glue the bitts into place, as shown.
PHOTOS 136 & 137: Adapt and glue the straps (136) to the parts (102). Paint the straps black and then glue the parts to the
bow, and pin them in place using the pins (A).
PHOTOS 138 & 139: Glue the other supports to the hull as shown in the photos.
PHOTO 140: Cut to size and attach three parts (137) to each side of the ship.
PHOTO 141: Now glue the parts (138, 139, 140, 141 & 142) to the stern, as shown in the photo.
PHOTO 142: Make up parts (143 & 144) and stain part (143) sapelli wood colour.
PHOTO 143: Fix the bell (146) to the base (145) using one of the eyebolts (B).
PHOTO 144: Pain the bell tower a colour similar to that of sapelli wood and then glue together the parts (143, 144, 145 & 146),
as shown in the photo.
PHOTO 145: Line the parts (148) using the lining (149) and then glue the two parts (148) to part (150).
PHOTO 146: Glue the parts (151 & 152) to the body of the windlass and apply a coat of colourless, pore-filling lacquer. Using a
marker pen make the marks shown in the photo.
PHOTOS 147 & 148: Make up two davits (153) and stain them the colour of walnut wood. Now attach the straps (154) using the
eyebolts (B) and fix a pulley (155) using one of the pins (A).
PHOTO 149: Now glue one of the davits at each side of the hull. Glue the windlass to the deck. Stain part (156) the colour of
sapelli wood and then glue parts (157 & 158) into place. Insert the belaying pins (I).
PHOTO 150: Glue the parts (160 & 161) onto parts (159), paint them black and outline the reliefs using gold paint. Now glue
them to the sides of the hull at the stern, as shown.
PHOTO 151: Make up the stair using parts (41 & 42) and fit it inside the hatch on the deck.
PHOTOS 152 & 153: Stain the parts (162 & 163) the colour of walnut wood and use them to make up the ladder by gluing them
into place as shown in the photo. Make up and glue (164 & 165) into place on the hull.
PHOTO 154: Make up the covers for the portholes, scuppers and ventilation openings (166, 167, 168, 169, 170, B & H).
PHOTOS 155 - 157: Glue parts (166, 168, 169 & 170) into place on the hull and transom as shown in the photo.
PHOTOS 158 & 159: Make up two the davits (171) using the parts (172, 154, 155, A & B).
PHOTOS 160 & 161: Make up the booms (173) using the straps (154). As can be seen the ends must be a specific size. To
curve the parts first soak them in and then attach them to the deck using the parts (174) and the pins (A).
PHOTOS 162 - 164. Stain the channels (175, 176 & 177) the colour of sapelli wood and glue the finishes (178) onto them.
Attach the channels using the brackets (179 & 180) to both sides of the hull.
PHOTOS 165 & 166: Glue the parts (181, 182, 183 & 184) together to make up the stern platform. Now line the platform using
the lining (185) and glue reinforcement (186) to it.
PHOTO 167: Glue the part (154) to the tiller (95). Make up and attach the part (187) and then paint it black.
PHOTO 168: Insert and glue the tiller (95) to the helmstock. Now make up the railing (188) using the eyebolts (B).
PHOTO 169: Glue the parts (189, 190, 191 & 192) to make up the binnacle cupboard.
PHOTOS 170 & 171. Glue the parts (193) onto both sides of the cupboard and then line it using the lining strips (194).
PHOTOS 172 & 173: Make up and glue the parts (194 & 195) and insert the eyebolts (B).
PHOTO 174: Make up and glue the parts (196, 197 & the pins A). Now apply a coat of colourless, pore-filling lacquer.
PHOTO 175: Stain the parts (198) the colour of sapelli wood. Now join parts (198, 199 & 200) using the shaft (201) to make up
the wheel assembly.
PHOTO 176: Glue the binnacle cupboard into place, right behind the cabin skylight, as shown in the photo, and then fix the
wheel assembly into place using the reinforcements (202).
