Clean substrate tubes or changing content
1. Turn off the pump and open the lid of the filter.
2. Swing the filter insert up and remove the partition between filter and substrate
chamber.
3. Remove the substrate tubes.
4. Clean the substrate tubes with the substrate under running water or replace the
substrate.
5. Insert the substrate tubes in the guides.
6. Insert the partition, swing the filter insert down again and close the filter lid.
7. Turn on the pump to place the filter in operation again.
10. Storage/Wintering
You must take the Biotec filter out of operation if the water temperature is lower than
8 °C, or at the latest if frost is expected. Empty the filter and thoroughly clean it; check
the filter for possible damage in the process.
Remove and clean the sieve insert with the trickle mat, all pad inserts, and the sub-
strate tubes. Store these in a dry and frost-free location. Children must not have access
to the storage location.
Cover the filter container in such a manner that no rainwater can penetrate. Let the filter
stand “dry”.
Empty all hoses, tubing, and connections to the extent possible.
