Chains and belts
Bike chains undergo natural wear which depends
on how the bike is looked after, maintain and used
(cycling, rain, dirt, salt etc.).
Regularly clean the chain and belts and lubricate
the chain to extend its life.
Have these parts replaced by your approved
O2Feel reseller when the acceptable wear limit is
reached. A belt does not last as long as a chain.
Grips
Grips experience natural wear. This is why they
need to be replaced.
Make sure that the grips are positioned correctly
on a regular basis. Consider having them checked
by your approved O2Feel reseller.
Brake and gear cables
Make sure you check all cables regularly.
Get faulty parts replaced by your approved O2Feel
reseller. This might be particularly important if your
bike is left outside regularly and exposed to bad
weather.
Paintwork
Paintwork needs regularly maintenance, which will
also preserve the look of your bike.
Make sure that painted surfaces are in flawless
condition on a regular basis, and correct any faults
immediately.
Your approved O2Feel reseller will be happy to
offer advice about looking after surfaces.
Assemblies
All the bike assemblies, such as the headset,
the hub, the pedals and the bottom bracket,
experience natural wear. This depends on the
intensity and duration of use and maintenance.
Check these parts regularly.
Clean and lubricate these parts regularly.
Bearings for full suspension frame and
sprung forks or other elements of the
suspension system
The components of the bike’s suspension system,
bearings and elements of the suspension system,
are subject to much more pressure than other
bearings. This is why they experience a lot of wear.
Check these parts regularly and thoroughly.
Follow the manufacturers’ instructions.
Your approved O2Feel reseller will be happy to
offer advice about looking after and, if necessary,
replacing these sensitive components.
You should also check the websites of the relevant
component manufacturers to find out the most
important points about looking after parts that are
subject to wear.
Regular inspections
The spokes will align themselves over the first few
miles that you cycle, the brake and transmission
cables will stretch and the bearings will be broken
in. This is why an initial inspection should be
carried out by your approved O2Feel reseller after
around 200 kilometres or four to six weeks. This
inspection is also important when it comes to your
rights under the guarantee.
