B. Installing a Packet Sniffer
One of the JN5179 USB Dongles supplied in the development kit is programmed with
an NXP packet sniffer application - this dongle is indicated with a red sticker. For more
information on the JN5179 USB Dongles, refer to
.
This section describes how re-program either of the dongles with the packet sniffer
application. To use a dongle as a sniffer, you must also install the Ubiqua Protocol
Analyzer software on the PC from which the packet sniffing will be conducted.
Proceed as follows:
1.
Plug the JN5179 USB Dongle into the PC.
2.
Program the sniffer application binary into the JN5179 device on the dongle:

Download the Ubiqua Protocol Analyzer software and install it on the PC:

Run the downloaded installer and follow the on-screen installation
instructions

Start the Ubiqua Protocol Analyzer (ensure that the PC is connected to the
Internet).
