Note the following:
The ‘USB to Micro USB’ cable allows the board to be powered from a USB port
on the 5V DC PSU.
The Raspberry Pi must be located near to the mains outlet socket in which the
PSU is plugged and the PSU/socket must be easily accessible.
A JN5179 USB Dongle can be plugged into any of the USB ports of the
Raspberry Pi board to form an IoT Gateway (see
). However, it is
recommended that this connection is made via a supplied USB-to-USB cable,
especially when the Wi-Pi adaptor is also used (in order to ensure radio
isolation between the dongle and adaptor).
The JN5179 USB Dongle that is to be connected to the Raspberry Pi board for
the ZigBee Smart Home Demonstration is the one with a green sticker (see
). This dongle is pre-programmed as a Control Bridge.
The Wi-Pi wireless adaptor can be connected to any of the USB ports of the
Raspberry Pi board in order to provide Wi-Fi connectivity. However, it is
recommended that this connection is made via a supplied USB-to-USB cable,
especially when a JN5179 USB Dongle is also used (in order to ensure radio
isolation between the dongle and adaptor).
The supplied NFC Controller (see
) can be connected to the
Raspberry Pi board to facilitate NFC commissioning (see
).
