CAMERA OPERATING
5. CAMERA OPERATING
To operate the camera Novus DVRs (recorders) and/or system keyboard should be used.
5.1. Camera control
After connecting the power to the camera, the camera goes through the self-test mode after which
it is ready to operate. After connecting the camera to the keyboard or DVR, check the correctness of
connections by performing several joystick movements both vertically and horizontally or if DVR
is used - by PTZ panel.
The camera has the ability to program presets, patrols and patterns using an external keyboard.
The NVAHD-2DN5220MSD/IRH-2 camera control is possible using a dedicated NV-KBD50 system
keyboard from Novus (via RS-485 bus) and from the recorder level (by the COAX protocol).
If need to change the camera ID and / or baud rate:
In the SYSTEM -> ID SETTING sub-menu, in the CONFIRM field, confirm the serial number (rewrite
it from the line above) - then the ID and BAUDRATE fields will be unblocked.
NOTE : In order for the changes to be made, restart the camera by calling preset 94, or physically
by disconnecting and connecting back to power supply.
5.1.1 Controlling the camera using the system keyboard
Controlling the camera with the system keyboard is carried out using the joystick and the numeric and
function keys. The joystick is used to move the camera from side to side (and around) and up and
down. z the joystick left and right changes the optical zoom ratio.
The numeric keys in combination with the PRESET button cause calling the preset with the given
number.
It is worth remember that the keyboard can also be used to navigate through the menu (Joystick) and to
call or open and close further submenus (OPEN key) and calling special presets.
5.1.2 Controlling the camera from the recorder
Novus brand recorders have an on-screen menu displayed against the background of the image. During
normal camera operation, status information may be displayed in the image. The
PTZ option in the
recorder is used to control the camera. The protocol used to control the camera is the COAX protocol.
To be able to control the camera, in the Devices section in the recorder menu, select the channel
corresponding to the camera in the
PTZ tab, and then select the COAX protocol for this channel and
save the changes.
Camera control from the recorder level is carried out using the arrow buttons in the PTZ screen menu
of the recorder, and the "
+ ", " - " buttons with selected parameters (ZOOM, FOCUS, IRIS).
It is also possible to set and call presets from the recorder. A special "PRESET" panel is used for this
purpose.
