Several special characters can be used to query the device about its settings:

Menu Bar Code Scanning

As the JADAK JE-238 can be programmed by scanning menu bar codes or by sending serial
commands to the JE-238, there is an option to restrict the ability to scan menu codes.
By setting

MNUENAB 0

, you can no longer scan menu programming barcodes.

The only command or scannable menu barcode to revert this will be

MNUENAB 1

.
