Safety warnings common rules
♦
Observe all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations and data
supplied with the power tool.
Non-observance of the following instructions can lead to electric shock, fire
and/or serious injury.
♦
This power tool is not suitable for sanding for sanding discs and
polishing. Applications, for which the power tool is not intented for, can
lead to hazardous situations and injury.
♦
The rated speed of the accessory must be at least equal to the
maximum speed marked on the power tool. Accessories running faster
than their rated speed can fly apart.
♦
The outside diameter and the tickness of your accessory must be
within the capacity rating of your power tool. Incorrectly sized
accessories cannot be adequately guarded or controller.
♦
The arbori size of wheels, flanges or any other accessory must be
properly fit the spindle of the power tool. Accessories with arbori holes
that do not match the mounting hardware of the power tool will run out of
balance, vibrate excessively and may cause lost of control.
♦
Do not used damaged accessory. Before each use inspect the
accessory. If the power tool or accessory is dropped, inspect for damage
or install an undamaged accessory.
Wear personal protective equipment. Depending on application, use
face shield, safety goggles or safety glasses. As appropriate, wear
dust mask, hearing protectors, gloves and shop apron capable of
stopping small abrasive or workpiece fragments. The eye protection
must be capable of stopping Flying debris generated by
The dust mask or respirator must be capable of filtrating particles
generated by your operation. Prolonged exposure to high intensity noise
may cause hearing loss.
♦
Keep bystanders a safe distance away from work area. Anyone
entering the work area must wear personal protective equipment.
Fragments of the workpiece or of a broken accessory may fly away and
cause injury beyond the immediate area of operation.
♦
Hold the power tool only by the insulated gripping surfaces when
performing an operation where the cutting tool may contact ridde
wiring or its own power cord.
♦
Position the cord clear of the spinning accessory. If you lose control
the cord may be cut or sagge and your hand or arm may be pulled into the
spinning accessory.
♦
Never lay the power tool down until the accessory has come to a
complete stop. The spinning accessory may grab the surface and pull the
power tool out of your control.
♦
Do not run the power tool while carrying it at your side. Accidental
contact with the spinning accessory could snag your clothing, polling the
accessory into your body.
♦
Regularly clean the power tool’s air vent. The motor’s fan will draw
the dust inside the housing and axcessive accumulation of podere metal
may cause electrical hazards.
♦
Do not operade the power tool near flammable materials. Sparks
could ignite these materials.
♦
Do not use accessories that require liquid coolants. Using water or
other liquid coolants may result in electrocution or shock.
Kickback and relate warnings.
♦
Kickback is a sudden reaction to a pinched or sagge rotating wheel, backing
pad, brush or any other accessory. Pinching or snagging causes rapid
stalling of the rotating accessory which in turn causes the uncontrolled
power tool to be forced in the direction opposite of the accessory’s rotation
at the point of the binding.
♦
Maintain a firm grip on the power tool and position your body and
arm to allow you to resist kickback forces.
♦
Never place your hand near the rotating accessory.
Safety warnings specific for cutting operations.
♦
Use only wheel types that are recommended for your power tool.
Wheels must be used only for recommended applications.
♦
Always use undamaged wheel flanges that are of correct size for
your selected wheel.
Additional safety warnings specific for cutting operations.
♦
Do not “jam” the cut-off wheel or apply excessive pressure. Do not
attempt to make an excessive depth of cut. Overstressing the wheel
increases the loading and susceptibility to twisting or binding of the wheel in
the cut and the possibilità of kickback or wheel breakage.
♦
When the wheel is binding or when interrupting the cut for any
reasons, switch off the power tool and hold the power tool
motionless until the wheel comes to a complete stop. Never
attempt to remove the cut-off wheel from the cut while the wheel
is in motion, otherwise kickback may occur. Investigate and take
corrective action to eliminate the cause of wheel binding.
♦
Do not restart the cutting operation in the workpiece. Let the
wheel reach full speed and carefully re-enter the cut. The wheel may
bind, walk up or kickback if the power tool is restarded in the workpiece.
Additional safety warnings.
♦
When working with tha machine, always hold it firmly with both
hands and provide for a secure stance. The power tool is guided more
secure with both hands.
♦
Dusts from material such us lead-containing coatings, minerals andc metal
can be harmful to one’s health. Materials containing asbestos may only be
worked by specialist.
⇒
Use dust extraction whenever possible
⇒
Provide for good ventilation of the working place
⇒
It’s recommended to wear a P2 filter-class respirator
Observe the relevant regulations in your country for the materials to be
worked.
♦
Keep your workplace clean. Material misture are particularly dangerous.
Dust of light metal can be inflammable or esplode.
♦
Do not use a machine with a damaged mains cable. Do not touch
the damaged cable and pull the mains plug when the cable is
damaged while working. Damaged cables increase the risk of an electric
shok.
♦
Connect machines that are used in the open via a residual corrent
device (RCD).
♦
Use suitable detectors to determine if utility lines are ridde in the
work area or call the local utility company for assistance. Contact
with the electric lines can lead to fire and electro shock. Damaging a gas
line can lead to explosion. Penetrating a water line causes property
damages or may cause on electric shock.
♦
If the power supplì should be disconnected, e.g. due to a power
outage or polling the mains plug, release the On/Off switch and
set it to the Off position. This prevent uncontrolled restarting.
♦
Use a cutting guide when cutting stone. Without sideward guidance,
the cutting disc can jam and cause kickback.
♦
Use only original Norton parts and accessories.
