Placement
Note:
The light will only come on when motion is detected at the set sensitivity level
if the [ OFF-ON-PIR ] selector is set to
PIR
.
For maximum efficiency:
• In order to prevent the light from being activated inadvertently it should be placed
in a position in which it will not be affected by heat sources such as barbecues or
air conditioning units.
• The PIR detector can also be inadvertently activated by passing traffic,
ventilation units or other electromagnetic sources such as transformers.
• Do not aim the PIR detector towards any reflective surfaces such as large glass
surfaces, pools or smooth white walls. These surfaces can reflect movement
which will give false readings to the PIR detector and cause it to turn on the light
inadvertently.
• Do not mount the wall light either too high or too low. The recommended
installation height is 1.8 m.
• The PIR detector works best for detecting movement passing across it.
Movements directly towards or away from the PIR detector are harder to detect.
• Try to mount the wall light so that its solar cell can take
maximum advantage of any available sunlight.
1. Remove the light’s wall mount using an
appropriate tool, e.g. a slotted screwdriver.
2. Use the wall mount’s 3 screw holes to
mark the mounting location onto the wall.
3. Drill appropriately sized holes into the
wall and fasten the wall mount using
appropriate screws and wall plugs.
4. Fasten the wall light onto its mount by
aligning its tracks flush against the wall
mount’s tabs and sliding it straight down
onto the wall mount. Make sure that
the snap locks click firmly into place to
ensure a solid fit.
Mounting
When the wall light is mounted at the recommended height of 1.8 m,
its detection range will be approx 5–8 m withing a 160º angle.
