Installing the Software License Key

SR1001 Installation Guide

Version 8.3.5

Installing the Software License Key

A software key is required to enable the SR1001 for 

advanced features (such as IPSec 

VPN)

. To obtain a software license upgrade key, contact your reseller or Nortel. You will be 

asked to provide the serial number and model number. This key is different than the port 
activation key.

To install the software licence key to enable 

advanced VPN

 on the SR1001, issue the 

following command:

SR> 

system licenses advance_vpn

You will be prompted to enter the advance_vpn licence key that you received from Nortel. 

Switching Routing/IPMUX Modes

The SR1001 supports only dynamic routing mode.
