2.6 EMERGENCY ALERT
2.6.1 ACTIVATING EMERGENCY ALERT
The Emergency button is located at the lower right-hand side on the front
of the Wave.
To activate an Emergency Alert the user must press and hold the
Emergency button for 3 seconds. When pressed, the emergency LED
flashes
RED , and the notification circle changes from blue to RED . The
device sends three consecutive reports to the SCC Platform as quickly as
possible before then sending Emergency messages every 30 seconds.
This time interval is configurable in tracking settings.
Once the Emergency report is sent, the LED becomes solid RED . The
WAVE will continue to send Emergency reports until it is reset by the user
or by the Platform.
2.6.2 RESETTING EMERGENCY ALERT
When the user is ready to reset the Emergency Alert, they can do so by
holding down the Emergency button for 3 seconds. The user will then
receive a prompt to select YES/NO.
IMPORTANT: Turning off the Wave will reset an Emergency Alert. The device will
need to be switched on and have a clear view of the sky for an Emergency Alert to
be reset remotely.
