The application of bearing air makes the air turbine nearly frictionless.
The turbine air causes the turbine shaft to spin counterclockwise. Once
the turbine begins to spin, you can turn on the coating material supply.
The coating material enters the rear of the cup, picks up a charge from
the electrostatic cable, and is atomized from the rotating cup. As the
coating material leaves the cup, vector air and electrostatic attraction
direct it toward the part.
NOTE: If the cup is not rotating when you trigger the coating material,
coating material could go into the turbine.
This subsection describes the specifications for the RA-16 rotary
atomizer.
