EVERY 250 HOURS OR MONTHLY

Operation 22 - Check Tire Inflation Pressure

WARNING: 

DO NOT INFLATE TIRES WITH FLAMMABLE GASES OR WITH AIR FROM SYSTEMS 

THAT USE ALCOHOL INJECTORS. THIS COULD CAUSE EXPLOSION OR ACCIDENTS.

WARNING: 

DO NOT STAND DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF TIRE WHILE PERFORMING MAINTENANCE. 

ALWAYS STAND TO ONE SIDE AND EXTEND ARM TO FILLER VALVE.

BE SURE TIRES ARE PROPERLY INFLATED TO 
SPECIFIED PRESSURE. INSPECT TIRES PERIODICALLY 
FOR DAMAGE.
CHECK TIRES ONLY WHEN MACHINE IS EMPTY AND 
TIRES ARE COOL TO AVOID UNDER INFLATION.

Check the pressure in the tires with a tire pressure gauge. 

Normal 

pressure is 25 psi.

Improper inflation is a large contributor to tire failures. Under 
inflation will cause damage to the cords. Excessive flexing of the sidewalls may cause breaks and cord separation.

Continuous operation builds up heat and pressure in the tire. Recommended inflation pressures allow for variation due 
to heat buildup.

If 24 hour operation does not permit checking cold tires, a correction factor can be determined. Check, and properly 
inflate, cold tires whenever possible, such as after servicing. After two hours of operation, check inflation pressure 
again. Repeat as many times as possible to determine an average increase in pressure.

After a reasonable average is obtained for hot tires, use the average hot pressure in place of the recommended cold 
pressure.
