POWERSHIFT TRANSMISSION

The power-shift transmission uses a single control lever, 1. Six forward and two reverse gear ratios may be chosen to 
provide the correct operating speed for any condition. With the inching control switch deactivated, depressing the 
brake pedal disconnects the transmission.

WARNING: 

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TOW-START A VEHICLE WITH A POWER-SHIFT 

TRANSMISSION. TOW ONLY WHEN NECESSARY TO MOVE TO A SAFER LOCATION FOR REPAIR.

NEUTRAL INTERLOCK

The transmission control lever is equipped with a neutral interlock 
button, 2, to prevent accidental machine movement if the lever is 
moved accidentally. In order to place the machine into gear the 
button should be depressed while moving the control lever.

NOTE:  

Transmission will not shift into gear unless the parking 

brake is disengaged.

ENGAGING TRANSMISSION

To place motor grader in motion:

1. Disengage parking brake.

2. While pressing the neutral interlock button move transmission control lever to forward or reverse position. The 
machine will automatically shift into first gear forward or reverse. The selected gear will appear in the digital 
readout, 3.

3. To select higher gear ratios, bump lever to the right until desired range is achieved. Move one speed at a time and 
allow the torque converter and engine speed to stabilize before moving to the next speed. To decrease gear ratios 
bump lever to the left until the desired range is achieved.

IMPORTANT:  

Do not over-speed engine when downshifting. Reduce engine speed before selecting a lower gear 

ratio.
