ADJUSTING THE TELESCOPE CHAINS ON NOKKA 4780 P
The right way to adjust the chains is done by measuring the distance from the 2-
telescopeear to the end of the 1-telescope. Right distance is 5 - 10 mm (see the picture
below). If the distance is less than 5 - 10 mm, the telescope is adjusted out by
tightening the chain tightener on the boom and if needed loosening the lower tightener
under boom. If the distance is more than 5 - 10 mm the telescope is adjustedin by
tightening the lower tightener and again if needed by loosening the upper tightener.
Finally control the right tightness of the chains. The right tightness is controlled by
placing the boom in straight position with both of the telescope out driven and grapple
nearly touching the ground, after doing this the telescope is slightly pulled in (100 mm).
When the telescopes has been drawn in should upper chain ‘hang‘ about 10 - 20mm
from the straight line (see in picture). When needed adjust the chains into their right
tightness and control the distance of the 2-telescope ear from the 1-telescope.
