WLAN
WLAN host interface is 4-line synchronous serial interface.
HS-USB
Universal Serial Bus is a galvanic interconnection between product and an external device. RX-34 is High
Speed USB 2.0 device, through the mini B connector.
Memorycards
The device has two memory card readers, which support SD, miniSD, MMC and RS-MMC dual voltage cards.
The memory cards are supplied with dual 1.8/3 V supply voltage, depending on the card type. If one of the
used cards supports only 3V supply voltage, then 3V is applied for both slots.
The detection of external memory card removal/insertion is done by a switch in the lid. Internal memory
card is driven down when battery cover is removed, i.e. when the magnet in the battery cover doesn’t cause
field to the Hall sensor in the PWB anymore.
Battery interface
The battery interface supports NMP Lynx battery interface for the BL-5C battery. This interface consists of
three connectors: VBAT, BSI and GND. BSI line is used to recognize battery capacity by a battery internal pull
down resistor.
Figure 59 Battery pin order
Battery temperature is estimated by measuring separate battery temperature NTC via BTEMP line, which is
located on the transceiver PWB, in a place where phone temperature is most stabile.
For service purposes the device SW can be forced into local mode by using pull down resistors connected to
the BSI line.
User interface
Main display
Display module features:
The device has one display.
Video interface is used for image data transfer (video and still) and serial interface is used for sending
commands.
• 800x480 transmissive LTPS LCD display
• 16M color. Only 65k used in RX-34
• a backlight incorporating 6 white LED’s to illuminate the display.
• a touch screen
• Video interface (VISSI) and serial interface (LOSSI) for commands.
The display has two different operating modes:
• Normal mode
• Sleep mode
