With the 3 screws of the 4th lens chamber being loose, mount the lens to be examined on the equipment (for 

periphery alignment).  (ref.

Set the lens to WIDE-end.  Set the zoom-fixing base 

under the lens (as shown below), and 

turn the zoom ring 

until the edge of the lens touches the zoom fixing base.

the equipment.
