3.3 Installation of Cutting-line Head
Use the cutting-line head (flexible nonmetallic line) recommended by the
manufacturer.
Do not use wire-rope, etc.
* If it is cut, it could be a dangerous projectile, resulting in serious injury.
Thoroughly read “1.2 General Precautions” before installing the cutting-line head.
Install the cutting-line head and other parts as follows:
Set the start/stop switch to OFF (O side) to stop the engine.
Remove the attachment from the powerhead.
Put on gloves.
Remove any foreign objects such as
grass and stones accumulated in part
A of the gear case [1].
Note
●
If the cutting-line head is operated with foreign
objects accumulated, the gear case could be
damaged.
Put the blade holder [2] on the output
shaft [3].
Insert the L type wrench (4 mm) [5] into
the hole [6] for holding the gear case
and rotate the cutting-line head [4]
counterclockwise to tighten.
Note
●
The output shaft has left-hand threads.
Turn the cutting-line head clockwise to loosen.
●
The L type wrench [5] is included in the powerhead.
●
If any other type cutting line head is used, then an optional spacer (called blade cap) must be
installed against the existing blade holder [2], to allow the head to seat properly.
