OPERATING PROCEDURE: Connection and Handling of Peripheral Devices
To remove the plugs of “2. RS-232C communication cable (optional)”, “3. LAN cable”, and “4. Connec-
tion cable”, hold down the clasp marked by “*” and pull it out.
CAUTION
• Do not use devices other than the specified barcode scanner or magnetic card reader.
IDs cannot be read correctly or device malfunction may result.
• Be sure to perform LAN connection via a network switch.
Data communication may not be properly performed.
• Before connecting a connection cable, be sure to turn off all devices.
Connecting the cable with power on may cause malfunction.
• Ensure that the plugs are securely inserted into the ports in the proper orientation. Do not connect
them with excessive force.
Damage to the ports or communication failure may result.
• When connecting a computer, use one that complies with CISPR 32.
• The RS-232C communication cable (optional) to be used varies depending on the connecting
device. For details, contact NIDEK or your authorized distributor.
• Before connecting the device to the network (LAN connection), set parameters of the device and
computer under supervision of your network administrator.
