The following table contains the steps for mounting your iR1200 data modem in a
vehicle.

Determine a convenient location in the vehicle – either on the
transmission bump or under the dashboard. If mounting the iR1200
modem on the transmission bump, ensure that the transmission
housing is not affected.

Use the mounting template or the iR1200 mounting bracket to mark
the positions of the holes on the mounting surface.

Mark the holes on the location for the mounting.

Drill the holes in the marked location.

Mount the unit using the #10 sheet metal screws.
Antenna Mounting
Regardless of whether the modem is installed inside a vehicle or building, the best
location for mounting the antenna is in the center of a large, flat surface.
Antenna Installation Considerations

All equipment must be properly installed in accordance with Nextel’s installation
instructions.
