Nextel Connection Manager User Guide
Setting the Default Modem
Once you reboot your PC, the Nextel Connection Manager icon appears. To continue with the modem
installation, follow the steps below.
Click the Nextel Connection Manager icon.
After you install the Nextel Connection Manager software the software will automatically scan for installed
devices. If you have only one LAN, WiFi, and Nextel device installed these will be set as default for each
connection. If there is more than one device that can handle a specific connection, you will have to manually
select which device to use.
If you see the following error message go to the next step.
1 Click Settings . Click Device management . If you prefer to wait until later to install the default modem,
please refer to the Device Management section of Chapter Nine: Settings.
2 To add a WiFi device, highlight WiFi and click Select . Otherwise, highlight Nextel and click on Select .
3 Choose the appropriate device from the Select Default Devices screen.
4 If your device is not displayed on this window, click Install Device .
