Bit Diameter
The diameter of the bit you are using is entered here. For an end mill, bullnose, and dovetail
bit, enter the maximum width of the cutter (the max diameter of the cutter).
For a v-nose bit, enter the width of the bit at the depth of cut. If you are going to make
multiple passes to achieve the final depth of cut, you should set the width of the v-bit cutter at
the ‘final’ depth of cut.
For the most accurate results, you should use a caliper to measure the diameter of the bit in
use. It is not unheard of to have purchased a 1/4" for example, that is actually 0.221 in
diameter.

Bit Diameter - Min and Max Parameters
Bit Diameter Parameter Settings
It is important to note that ‘Bit Diameter’ is a global variable. Whenever it is changed, that is
the bit diameter that the R2L will use for all operations and applications. You can change the
‘Bit Diameter’ from the Setup menu, as well as each Application menu.
Users are encouraged to update this parameter with every physical bit change. Users are also
encouraged to double check the bit diameter setting before running an application.
