2. Attach the rack nuts (required) and mounting spacers (optional) to the front of the rack on the left and
right sides. The rack nuts should be mounted towards the interior of the rack.

The mounting spacers are optional. They are provided to ensure that all components, such as
the central fan tube and the rear active drawer fan packs, can be accessed for maintenance (see the
Nexsan E32X and Nexsan E18X RAID Storage Expansions FRU Removal and Replacement Guide
).
However, some rack doors cannot close when the Nexsan Storage System is mounted with the
mounting spacers. To mount the Nexsan Storage System without the spacers, the rack nuts must be
placed 2U apart. Use the rail as a guide for rack nut placement.
3. Attach the rack nuts to the rear of the rack on the left and right sides. The rack nuts should be mounted
towards the interior of the rack.
