Remove bolts and take off timing gear case (1).
IMPORTANT: Note the installation position of the
bolts because they are different lengths.

Remove bolts (1), then take off connecting rod caps
(2).
Remove the pistons (complete with connecting rods)
from the crankcase.
IMPORTANT: Half bearings must be kept in their
respective housings: If they have to be reused, they
must be installed in the same position they had prior
to being removed.

Remove bolts (1) and take off the main bearing
journals(2).

The main bearing journal cap (1) and its respective
thr ush bear ing (2) have a shoulder to control
crankshaft endplay.
IMPORTANT: Take note of the mounting position of
the main bearings and thrush bearings: If they have
to be reused again, they must be installed in the
same position they had prior to being removed.
