Directives and manufacturer’s declaration – Electromagnetic immunity
The Saphyr is designed to be used in the electromagnetic environment specified below. The Saphyr user should make sure
that it is used in such an environment.

RF communication mobile and portable equipment should
not be used too close to any part of the Saphyr, including the
cables. The recommended separation distance calculated from
the applicable equation to the transmitter frequency should be
adhered to.
Recommended separation distance :
d= 1.2√P
d= 1.2√P from 80 MHz to 800 MHz
d= 1.2√P from 800 MHz to 2500 MHz
where P is the maximum transmitter exit power in watts (W)
depending on the make of transmitter and the recommended
separation distance in metres (m).
The field intensities of the fixed RF transmitters determined
by on-site electromagnetic investigation
a
should be below the
level of conformity in each frequency range
b
. Interference can
occur close to equipment marked with the following symbol:
NOTE 1: At 80 MHz and at 800 MHz the highest frequency range applies.
NOTE 2: These directives may not apply in all situations. Electromagnetic propagation is modified by absorption and
by reflections from structures, objects and people.
The field strength of fixed transmitters such as base stations for radiotelephones (cell phones or wireless) and terrestrial
mobile radios, amateur radio, AM and FM broadcasting and television broadcasting cannot be theoretically predicted with
precision. To evaluate the electromagnetic environment resulting from fixed RF, an on-site electromagnetic investigation
should be considered. If the strength of the field measured at the place where the Saphyr is used exceeds the level of
RF conformity applicable above, the Saphyr should be monitored to check that it is functioning normally. If unusual
performance is observed, additional measures may be necessary, such as reorienting or repositioning the Saphyr.
Over the range of frequencies from 150 KHz to 80 MHz, the field strength should be less than 3V/m.
