Change the function of the WAN/LAN1 port
By default the WAN/LAN1 port of the router functions as a LAN port. If you connect the
port to a wired modem so that you can use a wired Internet connection, you must change
the function of the WAN/LAN1 port so that it functions as a WAN port.
To change the function of the WAN/LAN1 port:
1. Launch a web browser from a computer or mobile device that is connected to your
Orbi network.
2. Enter orbilogin.com.
A login window opens.
3. Enter the admin user name and password.
The user name is admin. The password is the one that you specified the first time
that you logged in. The user name and password are case-sensitive.
The BASIC Home page displays.
4. Select ADVANCED > Setup > LAN Setup.
The LAN Setup page displays.
5. Clear the Enable WAN/LAN1 port as LAN port check box.
If you use a wired Internet connection, you must clear the check box so that the
WAN/LAN1 port functions as a WAN port and you can connect the port to your wired
modem.
By default, this check box is selected and the port functions as a LAN port. That
means that if you use a mobile broadband connection only, you can connect a LAN
device to the WAN/LAN1 port.
6. Click the Apply button.
Your settings are saved.
View or change WAN settings
You can view or configure wide area network (WAN) settings for the Internet port. You
can set up a DMZ (demilitarized zone) server, change the maximum transmit unit (MTU)
size, and enable the router to respond to a ping to its WAN (Internet) port.
