System maintenance

Replacing the RTC clock coin battery

The RTC coin battery in the AltaVault controller is located near the boot device, almost in the center of the 
controller as shown below.

Identify battery components as described in this table:

3.

Place your thumb or forefinger on the battery, gently push the battery away from the holder, and then lift the battery 
out of the holder.

Note: 

The polarity of the battery as you remove it from the holder. The battery is marked with a plus sign and must be positioned 

in the holder in the correct orientation, when replaced. A plus sign near the holder tells you how the battery should be positioned.

4.

Place the battery on an anti-static surface.

Installing an RTC battery

Before you begin, verify that the RTC battery you are installing is supported by your controller model.

To install an RTC battery

1.

If you are not already grounded, properly ground yourself.

2.

Remove the replacement battery from the anti-static shipping bag.
