section on the next page. If
you do not use WEP, you are now ready to make and receive
calls with your phone!
Using WEP
This section explains how to perform the wireless configuration
for the XJ100 using WEP, or Wired Equivalent Privacy. WEP
is a security protocol for wireless local area networks (WLANs)
defined in the 802.11b standard. This protocol encrypts data
over radio waves so it is protected as it is transmitted from one
point to another.
Refer to your checklist on page 3. If your wireless network
does not use WEP (if you answered “no”), you are ready to
make and receive calls!
If your wireless network is WEP enabled, complete the
instructions below for enabling WEP and configuring the WEP
key.
Enabling WEP and Configuring the WEP Key
To turn on WEP and configure your WEP key:
