5. MAINTENANCE AND AFTER-CARE
Warning
Please clean the BiliCocoon™ Fixation System after each use.
Never immerse in a bath and never spray a solution directly onto the Bili
Cocoon™ Fixation
System
’s surface.
Do not autoclave or gas sterilise.
If you do not sufficiently clean the device and/or do not follow the cleaning instructions, you
risk contaminating or damaging it.
Maintenance should not be carried out on the BiliCocoon
TM
Fixation System when it is
positioned on the fixation system.
Remove the BiliCocoon ™ Fixation System from its stand before cleaning it. Use a soft cloth
and cleaning and disinfectant agent (see the list of cleaning and disinfectant agents used in
paragraph 5.A), then carefully rinse with a soft, wet cloth. Perform a visual inspection of the
BiliCocoon ™ Fixation System to assure that it is clean. Otherwise repeat the previous
instructions until there is no more soil observed. Only use the fixation system once it is
completely dry.
Maintenance must not be carried out when the system is connected to the power supply.

List of authorized cleaning agents and disinfectants
Warning
The system can be cleaned without being damaged using the following products:

An EPA-registered cleaning and disinfectant product, such as CaviWipes
™, METREX

A product containing didecyldimethylammonium chloride, such as S
urfa’Safe,
Laboratoires ANIOS
Do not use products containing:

Caustic or abrasive cleaning products

Powerful cleaning solutions (acidic and alkaline)
-
Iodine-based solutions
-
Phenolic compound-based products, which can lead to increased bilirubin levels in new-
born babies
