CARABINERS
The harness is delivered with carabiners installed. The automatic carabiners used
are the ROCKET by the Austrian brand AUSTRIALPIN.
The carabiners should be decommissioned and replaced after 500 flight hours or 5
years of use. For further information on the carabiners, please refer to the manual
included with your gear or on the website.
The carabiners are the only attachment points for the glider and the rescue. They can
be used to attach a tow bridle. There is no other attachment point on the harness.
Installing the carabiners
If the carabiners are removed, please refer
to the photo on the left to see the webbing
attached to the carabiner. From the back to
the front, you will find:
1 - The upper pod strap,
2 - The main strap, folded
3 - Depth strap
4 - Side strap,
5 - Shoulder strap.
The carabiner is kept in place by the two holes
on the outside of the harness.
In case of doubt, contact your reseller.
HARNESS SETUP
Before the first flight, it is important to adjust your harness. A short flight will help you
make fine adjustments before going on a long flight. The blue circle in the illustration
below shows the ideal placement of the hip. For a correct setup, we recommend
following these steps:
1 - Side strap
The side strap allows adjusting the inclination of the backrest. It is the first adjustment
that should be done and it depends on your flying habits. It allows you to be in a
sitting position or reclined.
2 - Depth strap
The depth strap is marked with red stitching that should not be exceeded. This
adjustment is there to allow shorter pilots to adjust the seat. This strap should not
be too tight.
3 / 4 - Pod adjustments
The strap length is adjusted with a knotted cord. Move the cow hitch of the chord over
the knots to lengthen or shorten the pod. These are the most important adjustments
to change the seat.
5 - Shoulder and upper chest strap
The shoulder straps allow you to adjust the pressure on the shoulders in flight and
the harness height on take off. Warning: we do not recommend tightening this strap
too much in order to avoid back fatigue. If you wish to tighten the shoulder straps
in flight occasionally to be one with your harness, we recommend using the upper
chest strap that allows adjusting both shoulder straps at once.
