ORIGINAL MANUAL (INSTRUCTION)
PNEUMATIC ORBITAL GRINDER
14-510
CAUTION: BEFORE USING THE
EQUIPMENT READ THIS MANUAL
CAREFULLY AND KEEP IT FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.
DETAILED SAFETY REGULATIONS
WARNING:
Observe safety regulations when using the device. For your
own and other persons safety read this manual before starting to work
with the device. Please keep this manual for future reference.
CAUTION!
Failure to follow the above warnings may cause property
damage, serious body injury or even death.
General safety rules
Before starting installation, work, repair, maintenance or accessory
change, or when working near pneumatic tool, consider many hazards,
read and understand the safety instructions. Failing to follow the actions
above may cause serious body injuries. Only qualified and trained
personnel can perform installation and adjustment of pneumatic tools.
Do not modify the pneumatic tool. Modifications can have impact on
efficiency and safety level, and increase risks for the tool operator. Do
not throw away the safety manual, hand it over to the tool operator. Do
not use the pneumatic tool if it is damaged. Inspect the tool periodically
for visible symptoms, as required by ISO 11148. Employer or user
should contact the manufacturer for replacement of the rating plate each
time when it is necessary.
Hazards associated with discarded parts
Damage to the workpiece, accessories or even an insertion tool can
cause parts to be ejected at high speed. Always wear impact
-
resistant
eye protection. The degree of protection should be selected depending
on the work performed. Make sure the workpiece is securely fastened.
Wear a safety helmet when working above head level. The risk to
bystanders should also be considered.
Threats related to entanglement
Tangling hazards can cause choking, scalping and / or injury if loose
clothing, jewelry, hair or gloves are not kept away from tools or
accessories.
Risks related to work
Using the tool may expose the operator's hands
to hazards such as
crushing, impact, cutting off, abrasion and heat. Wear suitable gloves to
protect your hands. The operator and maintenance staff should be
physically able to handle the size, weight and power of the tool. Hold the
tool correctly. Be prepared to resist normal or unexpected movements
and keep both hands available. Keep your feet balanced and securely
positioned. Release pressure on the start and stop device in the event
of a power outage. Only use lubricants recommended by the
manufacturer. Use protective goggles, it is recommended to use fitted
gloves and protective clothing. Check the condition of the Velcro disc
before each use. Avoid direct contact with moving parts of the device to
prevent pinching, cutting hands or other parts of the body. Wear suitable
gloves to protect your hands. Never start the machine without the
abrasive attached. There is a risk of electrostatic discharge when used
on plastics or other non
-
conductive materials. A potentially explosive
atmosphere can be caused by
grinding dust or fumes. Always use a dust
removal or attenuation system appropriate for the material being
processed.
Hazards related to repetitive movements
When using a pneumatic tool for operation that involves repetitive
moves, the operator is exposed for discomfort of hands, arms,
shoulders, neck and other body parts. When using a pneumatic tool,
keep comfortable body posture that ensures the right feet position and
avoid uneasy or unbalanced body postures. Change your body posture
when working for a
long time, it helps to avoid discomfort and fatigue.
When experiencing constant or recurring discomfort, pain, pulsating
pain, tingling, numbness, burning sensation or stiffness, do not ignore
the symptoms, inform your employer and consult a doctor.
Hazar
ds associated with accessories
Disconnect the tool from the power source before changing the inserted
tool or accessories. Avoid direct contact with the tool inserted during and
after work, it can be hot or sharp. Use accessories and consumables
only in sizes and types that are recommended by the manufacturer. Do
not use accessories of a different type or size. Check that the maximum
insert tool speed is greater than the rated speed of the device. Never
mount grinding wheels, grinding wheels, cutting discs and cutters on the
grinder. A cracking grinding wheel can cause serious injury or even
death. Place the sanding discs concentrically on the Velcro disc.
Hazards related to the workplace
Slips, trips and falls are the main causes of injury. Beware of slippery
surfaces caused by the use of the tool, as well as tripping hazards
caused by air or hydraulic installations. Handle with care in unfamiliar
surroundings. The pneumatic tool is not intended for use in areas subject
to explosion hazards and is not insulated from contact with electricity.
Make sure that there are no electrical wires, gas pipes, etc. that can
create a hazard if they are damaged by using a tool.
Hazards related to vapors and dusts
Dust and vapors generated by the use of a pneumatic tool may cause
poor health (e.g. cancer, birth defects, asthma and / or dermatitis), risk
assessment and implementation of appropriate control measures for
these hazards are necessary. The risk assessment should include the
impact of dust created using the tool and
the possibility of inducing
existing dust. Operation and maintenance of the pneumatic tool should
be carried out in accordance with the instructions in the operating
manual, it will minimize the emission of fumes and dust. The air outlet
should be directed so as to minimize dust generation in the dusty
environment. Where dust or fumes are generated, the priority should be
to control them at the source of the emission. All integrated functions
and equipment for collecting, extracting or reducing dust or smoke
should be properly used and maintained in accordance with the
manufacturer's instructions. Choose, maintain and replace tools inserted
as recommended to prevent the formation of fumes and dust. Use
respiratory protection in accordance with the employer's instructions and
in accordance with hygiene and safety requirements. Work in some
materials produces dust and fumes that create a potentially explosive
environment.
Noise hazard
Exposure, unprotected, to high levels of noise can cause permanent and
irreversible hearing loss and other problems such as tinnitus (ringing,
buzzing, whistling or buzzing in the ears). Risk assessment and the
implementation of appropriate control measures in relation to these
threats are necessary. Appropriate controls to reduce
the risk may
include actions such as damping materials to prevent the workpiece
from ringing. Use ear protection in accordance with the employer's
instructions and in accordance with hygiene and safety requirements.
Operation and maintenance of the pneumatic tool should be carried out
according to the instructions in the operating manual, to avoid
unnecessary increase in noise level. Select, maintain and replace worn
tools inserted as recommended in the operating instructions. This will
avoid unnecessary noise increases. If the pneumatic tool has a silencer,
always make sure it is mounted correctly when using the tool.
Vibration hazard
Exposure to vibration can cause permanent nerve damage and blood
supply to your arms and shoulders. Dress warmly when working at low
temperatures and keep your hands warm and dry. If numbness, tingling,
pain or whitening of the skin in the fingers and hands occurs, stop using
the pneumatic tool, then inform the employer and consult a doctor.
Operation and maintenance of the pneumatic tool according to the
instructions in the operating manual will avoid unnecessary increase in
vibration. Select, maintain and replace consumables / tools inserted as
recommended in the manual to prevent any unnecessary increase in
vibration. Hold the tool with a light, but firm grip, taking into account the
reaction forces required, because the risk of vibration is usually greater
when the gripping force is higher.
