Automatic mode:
1.
Make sure the settings on the PFL 901 automatic gun and the NSA 606 M/NON
AUTO “manual mode” sorter are made correctly.
For this, the instructions can be found in the devices’ specific operating manuals.
2.
Check whether the sorter is electrically and pneumatically connected. The
connections are described in the sorter’s operating manual.
3.
Before the compressed air on the sorter is switched on, make sure that the feed
hose system is correctly locked to the isolating block.
4.
Turn the sorter and welding device on. If welding is being done under shielding
gas, a toggle switch on the back of the ALPHA 850 must also be activated.
When the welding device is turned on, the “System voltage” LED goes on. The
welding gun is supplied with 90 VDC and 24 VDC.
5.
Set the electrical weld parameters on the ALPHA 850. The parameter guidelines
can be found in the table in Chapter 7.2.
6.
Turn on the compressed air at the sorter’s manual slide valve and check the
operating pressure of >> 5.5 bar – 6.0 bar << on the manometer.
7.
When the compressed air is turned on, the welding gun’s loading pin immediately
goes to its home position (front end position).
8.
Give the command to convey studs. The conveyor command can be made:
•
on the sorter (see sorter operating manual),
•
by pressing the reloading button (light-up push-button) on the PFL 901 gun.
9.
When the conveyor command is issued, the welding gun’s loading pin goes to its
rear end position and frees the stud firing channel.
10.
The loading head then slides the weld stud into the stud holder, where it is held in
this position until the weld command is issued.
11.
Make sure a weld stud has entered the stud holder.
If not, the transport air on the sorter’s regulating valve must be appropriately
corrected (see the operating manual for sorter NSA 606).
12.
Position the gun on the weld point. As soon as the stud contacts the workpiece
surface, the “Contact” LED goes on.
