Installing the WebSAM NEC Storage Manager Server and 
Setting up the Environment 

Install the WebSAM NEC Storage Manager as described in the following procedure. 

Refer to the "NEC Storage Manager Installation Guide" and the "NEC Storage Manager User's 
Manual" for details. 

The "NEC Storage Manager Installation Guide" and "NEC Storage Manager User's Manual" are stored 
on the WebSAM NEC Storage Manager CD-ROM in the form of .pdf files.

To use the NEC ESMPRO link feature, install NEC 
ESMPRO Agent before WebSAM NEC Storage Manager. 
Close any service ran by the AlertManager Main Service in 
order to secure the registration of the link feature, and 
perform the installation procedure.

When you try to install the WebSAM NEC Storage Manager 
to an NEC Express5800 server in which the ESMPRO 
Manager is already installed, a dialog box appears which 
asks whether the ESMPRO AlertManager is to be linked. 
Establish the link if necessary. For details of the WebSAM 
NEC Storage Manager, see "Link between ESMPRO 
Manager and ESMPRO Alert Manager" in the "NEC Storage 
Manager User's Manual".

The WebSAM NEC Storage Manager creates many files in 
the installation folder while it operates. During an 
uninstallation, the files stored in the installation folder 
(including sub-folders) are to be deleted except the 
WebSAM NEC Storage Manager server configuration file 
and some others. Accordingly, it is recommended to select 
the default folder as the installation folder. 
To use a folder other than the default, create a new folder or 
select a folder which does not contain any files. Do not save 
important files in the installation folder and sub-folders 
subordinate to the folder.

The installation folder cannot be a folder including a Win.ini 
file.
