Installing a FC/SATA Disk Drive

The disk drive has a plug-in structure. Insert the disk drive slowly.

Slowly and gently insert the disk drives one by one.

Use only brand new FC/SATA disk drives. The warranty does not apply when operating the
disk array unit using old or reused drives.

For installation and removal procedures, see Section 3.6 "Installation/Removal of Front
Panel".

Do not install any 1Gbps disk drives in the disk enclosure.

Do not mix SATA and FC hard disk drives in the same enclosure.

Remove the front panel, if installed.

2.

Before installing the FC/SATA disk drive, select the location label appropriate to the location
where the FC/SATA disk drive is to be installed, and put it on the disk drive. The slots are
numbered from 0 to 14, from the left to the right of the unit when viewed from the front.

3.

Lift the ejector of the FC/SATA disk drive upward to unlock it, and insert the FC/SATA disk
drive into the slot. Once the disk drive is securely inserted to the end, push down the ejector
until it locks into place.

4.

Repeat steps 2 through 4 for each disk drive you wish to add.
