4-22 Setting System Parameters
THE EXIT MENU
Selecting “Exit” from the menu bar displays the following
exit options. Note that
Esc does not exit this menu. You
must select one of the items from the menu or menu bar to
exit.

Discard Changes & Exit
■
Get Default Values
■
Load Previous Values
■
Save Changes.
Save Changes & Exit
After making your selections on the Setup menus, always
select Save Changes to Non-Volatile RAM (NVRAM) to
make them operative.
Unlike standard RAM memory, NVRAM is sustained by a
real-time clock chip and stays on after you turn your system
off.
After you save your selections, the program displays this
message:
Values have been saved to CMOS!
Press <space> to continue
If you attempt to exit without saving, the program asks if
you want to save before exiting.
During bootup, Setup attempts to load the values you
saved in NVRAM. If the values saved in NVRAM cause
the system boot to fail, reboot and press
F2 to enter Setup.
In Setup, you can load the ROM default values (as
described in “Get Default Values”) or try to change the
values that caused the boot to fail.
