5. Remove the device from its protective wrapper and place it on an
antistatic surface. Record the model and serial number in the
equipment log.
6. Set any device jumpers or switches according to the manufacturer’s
instructions.
7. Using four screws (not supplied) and two EMI/ESD grounding clips,
attach a plastic, snap-in slide rail to each side of the device (Figure 4-12,
A, B, C). Install the grounding clip under the screw head near the front
of the device (Figure 4-12, C).

Note
The plastic slide rails come in left/right pairs (labeled A and
B as shown); take care to position the rails on the drive as
shown in Figure 4-12.

8. Position the drive so that the plastic slide rails on each side of the device
engage the front peripheral bay guide rails.
