4. Disconnect the two faston terminals from the OPC Detection Microswitch (see Figure 1).
NOTE
At this point, in an effort to get the customer's printer running temporarily, you can bypass the microswitch and reset
the PC count as follows: After disconnecting the faston terminals, close the upper unit, plug in and turn on the
printer, and open the upper unit. Using a clip lead, short the two wires together, push the PC Reset Button, remove
the clip lead and tape together both wires to keep them from shorting, and install a new OPC Cartridge. This should
provide a temporarily solution until a new OPC Detection Microswitch can be installed.
5. Lift the OPC Cartridge release lever and remove one of the screws that secures the OPC microswitch.
6. Hold the microswitch and remove the second securing screw.
7. Remove the OPC Detection Microswitch from the printer. Reverse the procedure to reinstall.
NOTE
When replacing the microswitch, do not overtighten the securing screws.
