Problem: Black marks on the page.
Solution: Clean fuser unit.
In the front of the machine on the inside is a grey felt box with a label on the top that says CAUTION
HOT. Open the door and check the condition of the felt pad. Sometimes a crusty toner clump will be
on this pad that can be scraped off with a knife or even flip the pad 180 degrees so that the other
side of the pad is doing the cleaning. Subject to availability, you might order another felt pad from
the Parts department. The part number is 808-812260-001A. Look at the roller underneath it to see
if there is a toner build-up. Be aware: that is the hot unit. Wipe off any toner on this roller. DON’T
USE A SHARP OBJECT TO GET TONER OFF THIS ROLLER. A scratch on this unit will take toner off
the page and cause white spots that appear like a scratch on your page. When the roller cools
down, the toner will come off like melted wax.
