Size of the Partition to be Created
The required minimum size of a partition to install the system can be obtained from the following
formula:
Size required for instal paging file size + dump file size
Size required for installation = 3,500MB (Windows Server 2003 R2)
Paging file size (recommended) = size of memory
installed
*  1.5
Dump file size = size of memory
installed
*+ 12MB
IMPORTANT:
 The above paging file size is necessary for collecting debug information (memory dump).
If a value smaller than the “Recommended” value is set for the initial size of the paging
file, correct debug information (memory dump) may not be collected.

The maximum paging file size is 4095MB in a partition. If 1.5 times the size of
installed
memory is larger than 4095MB, set the size at 4095MB.


TIPS:
The
installed
memory size means the total of
installed
memory on single PU/IO
module.
For example, if memory of 1GB is
installed
,the required minimum partition size obtained from the
above formula is as follows:
(1024MB  1.5) + (12MB) = 6072MB
TIPS:
The minimum partition size you can specify in the Express Setup is 6072MB. The
partition size must be 6072MB or larger for automatic installation. Therefore the size
smaller than 6072MB cannot be specified.
