What happens with the windows licence?
The Windows license is not affected when you capture and restore an image. The operating system
license is linked to the machine itself and will never change. Orderman has a specific OS license as
a Microsoft OEM Gold partner.This license will only work on the Columbus terminal and it can be
used between different Columbus terminals to restore machines (Win7 POS).
What happens with the POS Software licence?
There a various posibilities to protect the POS Application e.g. Dongle, Serial Number, via
DatabaseThe Orderman Recovery Tool doesn´t have an influence how the POS Application is
protected.
Note
: If you set the machine back to a previous image, all the information in the
current productive / working image in the SSD is lost!
Do you have to do it every day?
The recovery tool provides a snap shot of the entire system and is not an ongoing data security tool
in the background when the system is in productive mode. Daily backup can be done in the
productive system via Ntbackup or the Windows7 backup utility. A shortcut is on both systems on
the Desktop, when the dealer bought the Windows operating system via Orderman. An automatic
backup is not possible with the Columbus Recovery Tool.
