Step 2: Cable Installation Preparation

Note:

Before

attempting

install

the

RealScan

74,

the

site

must

prepared

accordance

with

the

requirements

described

Site

Preparation

chapter.

Note:

The

RealScan

ships

complete

from

the

factory

and

requires

operator

assembly.

The

laser

module

integral

part

the

factory

assembled

device

and

does

not

have

any

controls

that

can

increase

the

level

laser

light

collateral

radiation

from

the

RealScan

74.

these

steps

preparation

install

the

NCR

RealScan

cables

the

scanner.

Verify

that

the

RealScan

power

receptacle

switch

off.

Plug

the

power

cord

into

the

RealScan

power

supply

unit.

Pass

the

power

cable

from

the

power

supply

through

the

checkstand

opening.

Connect

the

communications

interface

cable

the

host

terminal.

Refer

the

terminal

documentation

for

instructions

how

connect

the

interface

cables.

Note:

Some

terminals

may

require

trained

service

technician

open

the

terminal

and

connect

the

interface

cables.

Pass

the

interface

cables

through

the

checkstand

opening.
