Print a Sample Receipt (Single or Continuous)
These tests print sample receipts, either once or continuously.
Caution:
The DIP switches are pre-set at the factory and should generally not be changed.
If you must change them, do so carefully to avoid changing other functions.
Note:
The operator panel may differ depending on the model. To put the printer on- or
off-line, use a paper clip or other pointed object to depress the plunger (in place of the On
Line button) on models with that item.
1. Open the front cover and set the DIP switches to the settings in the table for the test
you want to run.
Switch 7 is always Off. Switch 8: On = knife, Off = non-knife

2. Close the front cover and press the On Line button (or plunger).
The green LED flashes when the printer cycles. The settings are entered into EEROM.
The printer begins printing the sample receipt.
Note:
If the Sample Receipt Via Feed Button option is selected, the printer stops printing
after all the character sets have been printed.
3. Press the Paper Feed button to repeat the test.
4. Press the On Line button (or plunger) to stop the test.
5. Set the DIP switches back to the settings for normal operation (on-line mode).
See “Switch Settings” in “Chapter 5: Communication” for the settings.
6. Close the front cover and press the On Line button (or plunger).
The green LED flashes when the printer cycles. The settings are entered into EEROM.
Level 2 Diagnostics
Level 2 diagnostics run during normal printer operation. When the following conditions
occur, the printer automatically turns off the appropriate motor, disables printing to
prevent damage, and turns on the red LED (flashes the red LED if the receipt printhead is
too hot or the voltages are out of range):
•
Receipt paper out
•
Receipt cover open
•
Front cover (cassette door) open
•
Receipt knife unable to home
