If the digital output is configured as
Output Low When Off
(see the
VS300 Operations and Maintenance
Manual
for the specific text displayed on the UI), then the digital output’s switching circuit will
provide an open collector when a logic true condition exists and a current-sink-to-ground for a logic
false condition.
Each switching circuit must present an impedance between the switching device and a dc voltage
source that limits current flow to no more than 30 mA.
Digital output connections
Digital outputs 1 through 16, as required, connect to terminals of
REMOTE I/O-B
connector A1J2B
on the rear of the transmitter. See
Table 8.2 on page 8-5
to determine the output pin associated with
each digital output. Ground/shield connections are available on A1J2B pins 5, 10, 15 and 20.
Table 8.2: Factory Defined Digital Outputs
Digital Output
Description
Pin
1. RF On Status
Indicates the on/off status of the transmitter’s RF power stage. Logic true is RF is
enabled. Logic false is RF is disabled.
A1J2B-1
2. Remote Status
Indicates the local/remote control status of the transmitter. Changes can only be
made remotely if the transmitter is set to remote mode. The local user’s control
of transmitter operation is limited, unless the transmitter is set to local mode.
Logic high (open collector) if transmitter is in local mode. Logic low (current-sink-
to-ground) if transmitter is in remote mode.
A1J2B-2
3. Preset 1 Status
Indicates that preset 1 is currently active. Logic low (current-sink-to-ground) if
active (inactive presets are open collector).
A1J2B-14
4. Preset 2 Status
Indicates that preset 2 is currently active. Logic low (current-sink-to-ground) if
active (inactive presets are open collector).
A1J2B-16
5. Preset 3 Status
Indicates that preset 3 is currently active. Logic low (current-sink-to-ground) if
active (inactive presets are open collector).
A1J2B-17
6. Preset 4 Status
Indicates that preset 4 is currently active. Logic low (current-sink-to-ground) if
active (inactive presets are open collector).
A1J2B-18
7. Preset 5 Status
Indicates that preset 5 is currently active. Logic low (current-sink-to-ground) if
active (inactive presets are open collector).
A1J2B-19
8. Summary Alarm
Logic true condition (high or open collector) indicates that any alarm is occurring. A1J2B-3
9. Interlock Open
Alarm
Logic true condition indicates the RF output is inhibited because an external
interlock switch has been opened.
