Using the ac disconnect switch
A key controlled ac disconnect switch box (see Figure 2.98 on page 2-131 ) is provided with the NX50
transmitter to ensure operator safety. The transmitter’s rear door must be closed and locked before ac
power to the transmitter can be turned on. Similarly, ac power must be turned off before the rear
door can be opened.
Opening the transmitter’s rear door
Follow these steps to gain access to the rear of the transmitter:
1. Move the ac switch to the
OFF
position. This allows the
SERVICE KEY
to be moved. Turn the
SERVICE KEY
clockwise to the
OFF
position and remove the key from the ac disconnect
switch box. When the
SERVICE KEY
is removed, the ac disconnect switch is locked in the
OFF
position.
2. Insert the
SERVICE KEY
into the key hole in the handle of the transmitter’s rear door and turn
the key clockwise.
3. Open the rear door of the transmitter.
Applying ac power to the transmitter
Follow these steps to close the transmitter and apply ac power:
1. Close and latch the transmitter’s rear door. Turn the
SERVICE KEY
counter clockwise to lock
the door. Remove the
SERVICE KEY
.
2. Insert the
SERVICE KEY
into the ac disconnect switch box’s key hole and turn the key counter
clockwise to the
ON
position. Move the ac switch to the
ON
position to apply ac power to
the transmitter.
